Tuesday June 9th I arrived in Mbarara Uganda to start my summer of volunteer work with an organization called "Words of Hope." I pulled into Pastor Enoch Kategaya's home were I would be staying with Enoch, Derek, Fred, and Nick.I would spend the next few days not working but getting to know a few people and settling down in my home for the summer.Thursday the 11th I had my first day at work which consisted of me helping at the local teaching hospitals pharmacy for the day, counting and stocking pills along with registering the patients for the day. I would also do this the following day.

Saturday 13th We have weekends off as a staff so this day we just got to stay home and get very much needed rest, it was this day with all my down time that I really began to feel home sick.

Sunday 14th, Today I woke up and went with Derek and Enoch to the Church at He is the Pastor, University Baptist Church, which has a focus on the students in the neighboring Mbarara University. Since the School is out for the summer the service was small but I really enjoyed it. Once we came back home we found out that Fred, the house help, had taken off. He had left his keys at the house and His things were no longer in the room. After a little while I decided to check my money that I had in my room and when I looked I found that it all had been taken, about $570. Once Enoch returned home he notice that he had been missing about 1.2 million shillings which is slightly more than what I had. I would spend the next few days just hanging around the house while Enoch drove all over town trying to find clues to where Fred was at.

Today, Thursday the 18th I have been here for 9 days now and have already experienced so much more than I ever though I would.

I've left the blog open for others to post so please feel free to leave me messages! I will be arrive back home on August 5th. thanks again everyone for all your support and prayers, God Bless!!!
